Terms and Conditions for Gloucestershire Mindfulness and Counselling

In this document, those attending courses, classes and workshops are referred to as students rather than clients as Mindfulness is not specifically a therapy, however, it is known to have therapeutic benefits in terms of health and wellbeing.

Those embarking on Counselling are referred to as clients and further details regarding terms and conditions for counselling/psychotherapy will be sent prior to assessment as the Terms and Conditions differ from workshops, retreats and classes

  1. Places on courses must be booked either online, via email or text confirmation and paid for in full at the time of booking once your application has been submitted and accepted

  2. Everyone attending any courses, classes or workshops is required to complete the student application form giving full details of any health concerns prior to booking.

  3. All payments made to Lynsey Wellington trading as Gloucestershire Mindfulness and Counselling and can be made by electronic transfer such as BACS or PayPal, in cash, or cheque. Payment for the course may be spread over an agreed amount of time, however once a place has been offered any withdrawal from the course is still chargeable, as a place would have been allocated.

  4. If you wish to cancel your place on any of the courses, classes or workshops within 7 days of the commencement of the course, please note that Payment is non-refundable but, if necessary, transferable within 6 months of initial payment. Please note Counselling clients are required to give 24hours notice for cancellations to avoid charges for the session in full. (See separate Terms and Conditions)

  5. If for some reason you begin a course, class or workshop that has been pre-booked and paid for and cannot finish, for whatever reason, we will not be able to refund your fees.

  6. For those on the MBSR or MBCT for Life course, please note the handbooks are subject to copyright and not intended for sharing.

  7. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded on successful completion of all 8 sessions for MBCT for Life and MBSR courses which can be presented for ongoing teacher training pathway where appropriate.

  8. In order to uphold our standards, all students are asked to respect that the training does not qualify them to call themselves a Mindfulness teacher once the course is complete.  Please refer to a recognised training pathway in accordance with the Good Practice Guidelines GPG’s.

  9. By agreeing to our terms and conditions, you: "As a student of our training course, I consent to my contact details (name, email and phone number) being kept in line with GDPR by Lynsey Wellington trading as Gloucestershire Mindfulness and Counselling

  10. Gloucestershire Mindfulness and its other domain names cannot accept liability for cancellations, delays or changes caused by events outside of our control. 

  11. Gloucestershire Mindfulness and its other domains cannot accept liability for participant’s medical conditions which may develop during or subsequent to the course, or for the loss of, or damage to personal property of participants. 

  12. In the unlikely event that Gloucestershire Mindfulness cancels your course, 100% of your deposit and payments will be returned. 

  13. Where a teacher is unavailable, we will make every attempt to replace them with a teacher of a similar professional standard. 

  14. Any photos taken during the Training Courses, Classes or Workshops remain the property of Gloucestershire Mindfulness and may be used for promotional purposes, it is your responsibility to advise in writing if you do not want your photo taken and used in this way.

  15. Feedback given to Gloucestershire Mindfulness, by email, on a Course or Retreat feedback form, may be used as promotional material on the Gloucestershire Mindfulness and/or venue website and other promotional websites. It is your responsibility to advise in writing if you do not want your feedback to be used publicly.
